Andrew Kim at Minimally Minimal presents a compelling rebranding for Microsoft. He has some great insights, and very interesting concepts. Sadly something like this seems unlikely to happen, as Microsoft appears to be very attached to the "Windows" brand, as evidenced by their inane "Microsoft Windows Phone 7 series" style product names.
On a related note, I like what I'm seeing with Microsoft Surface. It's interesting, and I really do hope it succeeds. Competition is a good thing.
